Stargate

Every year we get a lot of requests of show groups who want to perform at the Salsafestival Switzerland. Unfortunately we can only book a small number of groups per event. While we had to write a lot of denial emails in the past, we now come up with a better suggestion: The best 6 shows will be pre-selected for a contest on saturday afternoon for our "Stargate" selection program. The winners will get the chance to open the saturday night shows at the Salsafestival Switzerland.

Important information for the application of your show at "The Stargate":

There's no deadline and no criteria regarding the duration of the show, the number of dancers in the show group or similar. However, we do prefer shows that register early, that are short, that are of good quality, that bring a lot of dancers onto the stage, that will surprise the audience and that are well documented (video, pictures in high resolution, biography). Only 6 shows will be selected for "The Stargate" program.

If we select your show for "The Stargate",

• all members of the showgroup have free access to the Salsafestival Switzerland 2012 (each person gets a Full Pass).
• we public your show group on our website and eventually in our printed program, assumed, that we receive adequate photo and text material.
• we present your show exclusively within our "Stargate" program on saturday, 25th february 2012 at 13:15h on the main stage.
• a number of estimated 30-40 representatives of other Salsacongresses will see your show.
• your show will be recorded for the official Festival-DVD. With the completion of the below form you agree that your show can be published on the official Festival-DVD without any compensation.
• you have the chance to open the saturday night shows, if you win the "Stargate" contest as best group in the afternoon!

Important: A Jury of experts in combination with an audience-meter will decide the contest. So bring your big fan club with you!!!

The next steps:

1. Suggestion: If you don't already have an own promotional code, register here.
   All Salseros around you will be able to buy cheaper festival tickets with your promotional code.
2. Suggestion: If the members of your show group will anyway visit our festival, doesn't matter if you will be chosen for "The Stargate" or not, should anyway book their tickets now (with your promotional code), as prices will rise every month. If your group will be chosen to participate, we'll pay you back the total of all bought tickets at latest at the event
3. Application: Register your show(group) in the form here below. If your group will be chosen for "The Stargate", all members will have free entry to the Salsafestival Switzerland 2012. Already bought tickets will be payed back in this case. For that reason, it is not possible to rise the number of dancers after the application. If you want to register several shows/groups you have to fill out one form for each group/show.
